Grand Patron of Millionaires Academy sign MOU with Anambra State to Build N2.6Bn Onitsha Trailer Park

The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, yesterday on behalf of the state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)with the Graffil Group for the establishment of an integrated Trailer Terminal at the New Tarzan Motors Park in Onitsha.
The MoU with an expected total investment of about N2.64 billion, will see the State invest N340 million as its equity contribution while the investor will bring N2.3 billion.
The project which will be executed under a Public Private Partnership Structure with a Special Purpose Vehicle to be known as Anambra state Government OnitPark Investment Limited, will include a 105-room hotel, an events Centre, Fuel/Gas Service Station, an Administrative Building, a housing Estate, Bank/Cash Centre and a Shopping Emporium.
Leading state government officials at the signing ceremony, Gov Obiano said the MoU was strategic in the realization of his administration’s safer roads initiative.
According to him, the first phase of the project, the Trailer Park which is  expected to be completed within six months, will be followed by a legislation that will prohibit indiscriminate parking of trailers along the roads which causes accidents and destroy the roads.
Governor Obiano who observed that the project has great prospects for improved IGR and job creation for the state, urged the investor to immediately hit the ground running and ensure that the project is delivered on schedule.                               
Earlier while reeling out the details of the MoU, the Chairman of the Anambra state Investment Promotion and Protection Agency(ANSIPPA)and traditional ruler of Umuoji, HRH Igwe Cyril Enweze, said the project seeks to promote a healthier environment and better organised transportation system with a strategic approach to urban sanitation in the state and reduce the incidents of congestion and disorderly vehicular arrangement on the state’s roads.

On his part, the President of the Grafil Group and Grand Patron of Millionaires Academy, Dr Forster Samuel assured of their commitment towards driving the objectives of the project, commending Gov Obiano for his vision in creating the enabling environment that had attracted huge investments into the state.                               

The state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Engr Frank Offor in his vote of thanks revealed that the State government had earlier kickstarted the project with site clearing, re-survey and perimeter fencing. He added that the Ministry will follow through the construction phase to ensure that the project is executed in compliance with the specified design.
